PENNI NORMAN
Ta Moko Provider - Hokianga, Mid North, Kaitaia
Penni is a descendant of Chinese and European heritage and affiliates to the Iwi of Te Rarawa and Ngati Kuri. She is an ANZSW registered social worker with over 30 years’ experience within the social service sector. Penni is also registered with the Social Workers Registration Board.
Penni walks alongside all people; from diverse backgrounds, with a particular desire to mahi those who are most disadvantaged. She carries a myriad of gifts in her kete of knowledge including motivational interviewing; solution focused therapy, Dynamics of Whanaungatanga (DOW), narrative therapy, and various needs and assessment tools. Penni has attained qualifications in child abuse and protection; specialising in interviewing children.
Her mahi is strongly driven from a strength based/ person centred approach. Her practice is underpinned by the vital Te Ao Maori principles of tika, pono and aroha. Penni has a shared vision with her husband Mike; to address, restore and strengthen the well-being of children, young people and whanau who are in need, so that they can achieve their full potential and personal aspirations.
