Fiona McKenzie

Fiona has been a counsellor for over 20 years, gaining experience in various settings across New Zealand and Australia. She was initially trained in New Zealand and holds degrees in Counselling, Social Work, along with certificates in Psychology and Health Sciences.
Fiona has extensive experience in mental health, working with both adults and children. She specializes in supporting individuals with addictions on their recovery journey and has worked with many people who have experienced trauma.
Given her experience with diverse communities, Fiona approaches her work in a culturally sensitive manner. She provides support to individuals, couples, families, adults, adolescents, and children. Utilising a trauma-informed perspective, Fiona employs Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Strengths-Based theories within the therapeutic relationship.
Fiona is a fully registered counsellor with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and a registered clinician with the Drug and Alcohol Practitioners Association Aotearoa New Zealand (DAPANNZ). Additionally, she offers clinical supervision to other professionals.
