Dr Shagufta Jabeen, Ph.D. is a psychologist, who has worked in the field of psychology for 26+ years in New Zealand and India. She started as an educationalist and researcher then moved into private practice. Her extensive training and experience includes working with crisis response teams, residential substance abuse clients, terminally ill clients and their families, work stress,
domestic violence, sexual abuse, and community mental health clinics for those experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD.
Shagufta provides assessments, one-on-one therapy and other cultural consultations. She uses CBT, Mindfulness, and Behavioural modification to empower clients so they can achieve the most of their potential. Shagufta is also a trained clinical Hypnotherapist.
Shagufta works with adults, children, and families from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.
She can communicate in English, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati and to some extent Marathi and Bengali with her clients. Shagufta believes learning is lifelong process and that every client teaches her a new skill.
