Ruby is a long-term resident of Whangarei, completing a Bachelor of Social Services right here in Te Tai Tokerau, Northland.
She is a registered social worker with over 14 years' experience and offers a bright person-centred, solution-focused, approach to her mahi with those she supports.
Throughout her career, Ruby has worked within a Maori health organisation delivering support and education to whanau with tamariki aged five years and under. She has worked proudly and extensively as a therapeutic social worker with vulnerable tamariki aged 5-13 years and their whānau, in an intensive wrap around approach.
More recently, Ruby has shifted into the health and rehabilitation space for those who have been significantly affected by the impacts of stroke. This role has provided experience within a multi-disciplinary environment where Ruby has gained a passion in advocating for those with capacity concerns as well as vulnerable older adults. This culminates in a keen interest for equitable access to all throughout Te Tai Tokerau, Northland.
