MALCOLM FALCONER
Psychologist - Hokianga / Kerikeri
Malcolm Falconer has over 30 years experience working with clients in a range of mental health settings.
He studied psychology at the University of Auckland including postgraduate level papers in clinical neuropsychology, psychotherapy, abnormal psychology and health psychology. Malcolm also has a post graduate qualification in forensic psychiatry. Malcolm has continued his professional development with qualifications and training in clinical supervision, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), EMDR, schema therapy, solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy.
Malcolm is also an experienced addictions practitioner and is registered as a DAPANZ supervisor. While previously living in the Far North he acquainted himself with Maori (Ngapuhi) culture and values, learning to speak some Te Reo as a result.
In 2020 Malcolm returned to the Hokianga where he now resides permanently. He has a lifestyle block which
is being regenerated by natural tree planting and is also home to 12 alpacas. He has resumed work in private
practice, with a clinic in Rawene and Kerikeri, where he sees private clients and clients funded via ACC and
PHO and provides supervision to other clinicians.
