FIONA MCKENZIE
Counsellor - Kaitaia / Kerikeri
Fiona has been a counsellor for over 20 years and has worked within a variety of settings within NZ and in Australia. Initially trained in NZ she holds a Degree in Counselling and in Social Work. She has experience working within mental health for adults and children, working with addictions supporting people to gain recovery and working with people who have a history of trauma.
Due to the diverse communities Fiona has worked within, she works in a culturally sensitive way with, individuals, couples, families, adults, adolescents and children. Fiona works from a trauma informed perspective, using Narrative therapy, DBT and Strengths-Based theories within the therapeutic relationship.
Fiona is a fully registered Counsellor with NZAC, a Social Worker with SWRB and a fully registered clinician with DAPANNZ and can provide Clinical Supervision to professionals.
